Acne is influenced by excess sebum production, follicular hyperkeratinisation, bacterial colonisation, inflammation, hormonal changes and genetic predisposition. Excessive sebum combined with abnormal keratinisation leads to clogged pores and comedones; bacterial colonisation within those clogged follicles triggers an immune response, resulting in inflammation and acne lesions. Hormonal fluctuations, particularly androgens, play a role in sebum production and follicular function. Salicylic acid, azelaic acid and lactic acid act on this by reducing sebum production, promoting proper follicular shedding, managing inflammation and restoring hydration to the skin.
A topical treatment that gently exfoliates dead skin cells and regulates sebum production, with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Gently massage over a damp face for 20–30 seconds, avoiding the eyes and the surrounding area.
- Rinse and dry.
- Use as many times as indicated by your physician or dermatologist.
- Salicylic Acid
- A beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) with keratolytic, comedolytic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. Its lipophilic nature lets it penetrate the pilosebaceous ducts and regulate sebaceous secretion.
- Azelaic Acid
- An antibacterial and antiproliferative agent with anti-inflammatory and oil-regulating properties that normalises the keratinisation process of the follicle. It also inhibits melanogenesis, acting on hyperactive melanocytes and regulating their overproduction.
- Lactic Acid
- An alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that breaks the protein bonds between corneocytes, causing them to detach and reducing hyperkeratotic stratum corneum thickness. It stimulates new collagen production and moisturises naturally by attracting water into the stratum corneum and stimulating ceramide synthesis, improving barrier function.
Azelaic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Aqua, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA, D-Panthenol, Decyl Glucoside, Tea Tree Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate.
Contraindications. Hypersensitivity to any of the known ingredients in the product.
Adverse effects. Adverse effects are usually mild and may include slight skin irritation, burning and redness. In rare cases there may be allergic reactions on the skin.
Caution. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes.
Storage. Do not freeze. Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
